That’s why you should know what kind of pimples you have. Under no circumstances can you express it in a shape!

Pimples are an unpleasant beauty problem for 80 to 95 percent of all teenagers – but also for many adults – one in five suffer from the common skin condition. The causes range from unhealthy nutrition to hormone changes to the wrong skincare. But pimples are not just pimples: there are different types that need to be treated differently so that they disappear quickly.

1. Papules 

Papules are knots under the skin that are often very painful. This can be caused not only by acne, but also by an allergy, a skin tumor or an insect bite. In this case, you can not do much more than regularly cleanse the affected skin. In most cases, the papules resolve themselves over time. Rarely, it can cause eczema or pustules.

2. Pustules

Pustules, on the other hand, are blisters filled with pus. Especially with pustules you should be careful, because the liquid in them can (but does not have to) be infectious and in the worst case damage the surrounding skin areas. Pustules that cause acne are caused by the bacterium “Propionibacterium acnes”. They develop, like all pimples, by a clogging of the pores. The sebum can no longer be transported out of the pores and it comes to a blockage, whereby the pores are particularly susceptible to bacteria. Pustules are therefore a problem that you should contact a dermatologist.

However, you can try to prevent them by treating your skin to regular camomile baths, nourishing you and eliminating stressors in your life. In addition, you should cleanse your skin with a pH-neutral wash gel, treat it with a degreasing toner and then apply an oil-in-water moisturizer. For particularly stubborn pustules, treatment with salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide (BPO) also helps. You can buy the antibacterial preparations in the pharmacy without a prescription.

3. Black blackheads

Black blackheads often occur in the nose and are often perceived by those affected as extremely disturbing. Here, the pores clog through increased transpiration of the sebaceous glands. The sebum and keratin oxidize, giving the blackhead a black color. However, black comedones can also be caused by excessive secretion of skin fat, for example by heavy sweating.

You should thoroughly cleanse your face in the morning and evening with this problem and apply soothing masks. There are excellent natural skin masks that you can easily make yourself.

  • Honey and cinnamon mask: Mix 4 teaspoons of honey with 1 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, apply the peeling to the black blackheads and let it work over night. Apply this method for 2 weeks.
  • Apple Mask: Remove the seeds of half an apple and add to a blender together with 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Purée the whole thing and put the mask on your face. After a contact time of 10 minutes you can wash it off again.
  • Oatmeal Mask: Crush a cup of oatmeal in your blender and add half a cup of warm water. Spread the mixture on the affected areas of the skin and let it dry completely. Then you can wash the mask off with lukewarm water again.

4. Closed blackheads

If you notice white nodules on the nose, cheeks, forehead or chin, then it will be called “Whiteheads”, also called closed blackheads. Here, clogged pores are the cause in which bacteria, fat and dead skin cells have accumulated. You’ll get rid of Whiteheads by properly cleansing and nourishing your skin. The morning and evening facial cleansing is therefore indispensable. You can also use BPO cream and retinol creams. The latter contain vitamin A, which opens the pores and sheds skin cells.

5. Cysts

In cystic acne deeper skin layers are attacked, which is why it often leaves scars. In contrast to other acne types, cystic acne infects oil passages under the skin. This leads to skin abscesses. For cystic acne home remedies and treatment attempts with drugstore products often do absolutely nothing. In this case, you should definitely consult a family doctor, because it often drugs such as antibiotics or isotretinoin needed to get the acne under control.

In general you should make sure that you have enough water for pimples and acne. In addition, several studies have shown that milk and dairy products, smoking, stress, lack of sleep and drinking alcohol can aggravate the acne. If you can not get on alone or suffer from severe acne, a visit to the dermatologist is inevitable.
